Fire Department

The City of King Fire Department is a municipal combination department consisting of a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief,  Battalion Chief, nineteen career firefighters, approximately twenty part-time firefighters, and an administrative assistant. We also have several groups that offer support services to our organization. Our members are highly trained and possess numerous state and national certifications.

The fire department protects a population of approximately fiftenn thousand residents in southwestern Stokes County and northwest Forsyth County, of which some six thousand plus reside inside the city limits of King. We respond to an average of twenty-three hundred calls a year. Our current fire insurance rating with the North Carolina Department of insurance is 3/9E.
