Facility Rental Information

The City of King has several facilities available for rent, both at Recreation Acres and Central Park. 
 
 
Cancellation Policy:
Community Building: Reservations canceled a week or more prior to the reservation will receive a 50% refund. Those canceled within a week of the scheduled reservation will not receive a refund.
Picnic Shelters: Reservations canceled 48 hours or more before the scheduled reservation will receive a 100% refund.
 
Recreation Acres
Community Building
The community building, located at 107 White Road, King, NC contains a large hall, which can be filled with long tables and chairs, and a smaller parlor that contains two couches and a small conference table. Both of these rooms are attached to a full kitchen.The use of the kitchen can be included in the hall or the parlor rental. There are also two picnic shelters, one free standing which includes two large charcoal grills and a smaller one attached to Everyone's Playground. 
 
The hall will accommodate approximately 142 people. There are 13 8' long rectangular tables and 130 chairs available for use within the hall. It is rented either for a full day or for 4-hour increments. The rental rates are:
Full-day - $200.00 for city residents and $250.00 for non-residents.
Four-hour increment - $125.00 for city residents and $175.00 for non-residents.
**  A security deposit of $100.00 is required for all building rentals and must be submitted at the time of reservation. This deposit is fully refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the building after rental. **

The parlor will accommodate approximately 56 people. It is rented either for a full day or for 4-hour increments. The rental rates are:
Full-day - $175.00 for city residents and $200.00 for non-residents. 
Four-hour increment - $100.00 for city residents and $125.00 for non-residents. 
**  A security deposit of $100.00 is required for all building rentals and must be paid at the time of reservation. This deposit is fully refundable upon satisfactory inspection of the building after rental. **

Picnic Shelters
There are two picnic shelters at Recreation Acres: A large, freestanding shelter next to the White Rd entrance, and a small shelter attached to the back of Everyone's Playground. 
The freestanding picnic shelter will accommodate approximately 75 people. The playground shelter will accommodate approximately 20 people.
They are rented either for a full day or for 4-hour increments. The rental rates are:
Full-day - $120.00 for city residents and $140.00 for non-residents.
Four-hour increment - $60.00 for city residents and $70.00 for non-residents. 
No security deposit is required to reserve shelters.
Reservations canceled 48 hours or more before the scheduled reservation will receive a 100% refund.
 
 
Central Park
 
Central Park is the perfect venue for a large outdoor event or a small family picnic. It contains a large outdoor amphitheater, a small picnic shelter in the grassy field overlooking the amphitheater, and a larger picnic shelter adjacent to the playground and historic cabin.
 
Amphitheater
**Please note: rental of the amphitheater constitutes a special event and requires submission of the Park Event Permit found here.**
The amphitheater at Central Park is a large, wooden structure with a raised concrete stage. Perfect for cultural events, such as concerts, theater, and dance recitals, it faces a very large tapered lawn that allows a large audience to view your event. It also contains two dressing/staging rooms and a gravel parking lot so entertainers can pull right up to the stage to unload. 
 
$150.00 for city residents, $200.00 for non-residents.
 
** An additional $200.00 fee is required for for-profit events. **

Renters may use the city's sound system for an additional fee of $40.00 per hour. 
 
 
Picnic Shelters
The large picnic shelter will accommodate approximately 75 people. The smaller shelter will accommodate approximately 45 people.
They are rented either for a full day or for 4-hour increments. The rental rates are:
 
Large Shelter
Full-day - $120.00 for city residents and $140.00 for non-residents.
Four-hour increment - $60.00 for city residents and $70.00 for non-residents. 
Small Shelter
Full-day - $80.00 for city residents and $100.00 for non-residents.
Four-hour increment - $40.00 for city residents and $50.00 for non-residents.
No security deposit is required to reserve shelters.
