Chief Boyette and King PD want the citizens to be aware that unknown suspects are calling random citizens, and the callers are falsely claiming to be King Police Officers saying there are outstanding arrest warrants on the citizens they are calling.
They are using an old phone number no longer by the PD. We are investigating the suspects but do not want citizens to be alarmed if they receive these fraudulent calls.
The callers may also claim they are from the IRS and demand payment to keep someone from being arrested.
This is absolutely not the way we deal with citizens and any such calls are completely fraudulent. If any citizen receives such a call or has any questions please call us at King PD at 336-983-0886.
